Veteran Indian actor Nana Patekar completed filming his role in the horror comedy Shakti Shalini before dying of a cardiac arrest at his Goa home on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026, Gulf News reported.

Patekar joined the shoot in May, playing an occultist or tantric, alongside Aneet Padda, Vishal Jethwa and Seema Biswas. The final schedule wrapped on May 27 at Chitrarth Studio in Powai, Mumbai, with a large climax sequence. The film, produced by Dinesh Vijan and directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, is part of Maddock Films' horror‑comedy universe that includes Stree, Bhediya, and Thamma. It is slated for release on Dec. 24, 2026.

Doctors attempted CPR for about 45 minutes after Patekar was found unconscious; he was declared dead at 5:20 a.m. India time. A medico‑legal case has been registered and a post‑mortem will be conducted, according to Dr. Shekhar Salkar of Manipal Hospital.
