Disney Entertainment and Netflix have signed a new licensing agreement that will place a range of Disney library films and current‑season TV series on Netflix for limited, non‑exclusive periods, Variety reported on Oct. 2.
Starting Oct. 4, Netflix will stream the five "Ice Age" movies – the 2002 original and its four sequels – worldwide for a three‑month promotional window ahead of the theatrical release of "Ice Age: Boiling Point" on Feb. 5, 2027. The same date marks the global debut of Disney+ original series "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" Seasons 1‑2 on Netflix, a three‑month run that precedes Season 3’s Disney+ premiere on Nov. 20.
Three 20th Television series also move to Netflix: crime drama "Will Trent" Seasons 1‑4 become available globally on Nov. 3, ahead of its Season 5 debut on ABC in early 2027; sitcom "Shifting Gears" Seasons 1‑2 launch in the U.S. on Dec. 1 and internationally in January before its Season 3 arrival on ABC on Jan. 7, 2027; and action‑drama "Tracker" Seasons 1‑3 arrive internationally on Feb. 26, 2027, with Season 4 set for an Oct. 4 CBS premiere.
Later in 2027, Disney‑branded films such as the Oscar‑winner "Soul," "Elio," and "Raya and the Last Dragon" will also become available on Netflix, though exact dates and regions will vary. Additional Disney library series – including "Felicity," "Revenge," "Army Wives," "Fresh Off the Boat," and "This Is Us" – are slated for staggered releases on the streaming platform.
