Sparsh Group of Hospitals inaugurated an AI‑enabled catheterisation laboratory, a SSI Mantra‑3 robotic surgical system and a modular cardiothoracic operating theatre at its Kantabada campus in Bhubaneswar, officials said on Oct. 17.
The AI‑enabled Cath Lab will support coronary angiography, angioplasty, stenting, pacemaker implantation and peripheral vascular interventions, with AI tools assisting assessment, planning and image interpretation. The SSI Mantra‑3 platform provides three‑dimensional, high‑definition visualisation and precision‑controlled instruments for minimally invasive procedures across urology, gynaecology, general surgery, oncology and cardiothoracic surgery.
Robotic surgery is led by Dr Madhuri Pattnaik, senior consultant and advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgeon. A 24‑hour emergency cardiac care service integrates the emergency department, Cath Lab and cardiac ICU. The inauguration was performed by Prof Manash Ranjan Sahoo, vice‑chancellor of Odisha University of Health Sciences, with Dr Pravat Kumar Dash of Capital Hospital and Dr Mahendra Prasad Tripathy of CARE Hospitals in attendance.
