Vijayawada – The NTR Memorial Trust opened a new blood bank on Friday, with Managing Trustee Nara Bhuvaneswari inaugurating the centre and describing every donor as a "lifesaver," according to newindianexpress.com.

Bhuvaneswari said blood donation is a lifeline and the new facility will bridge patients in need with safe blood supplies. She recalled the Trust’s 29‑year history of work in healthcare, education, women’s empowerment and safe drinking water, citing mobile clinics, the Arogya Rathams and RO plants under the NTR Sujala programme.

The Trust also highlighted its thalassemia programme, noting a free blood initiative for thalassaemic children launched in Hyderabad last year and announcing a similar thalassemia care centre will soon open in Vijayawada.
