Amazon’s October Prime Day sale lists the SimpliSafe 12‑Piece Wireless Home Security System at $159.99, down from $339.99, according to price trackers cited by Lifehacker.
What’s in the kit
The package contains a base station, a keypad, five entry sensors, two motion sensors, a key fob, a panic button and a SimpliCam indoor camera. The motion sensors cover 35 feet with a 90‑degree field of view and ignore pets under 60 pounds, per the manufacturer.
Features and connectivity
The system can be armed or disarmed via the SimpliSafe app, Alexa or Google Assistant. The base station uses Wi‑Fi and cellular connections and includes a backup battery that lasts up to 24 hours during a power outage.
Subscription details
Purchase includes one free month of professional monitoring; thereafter plans range from under $1 to just over $2 per day. Monitoring enables the panic button to dispatch police and provides app alerts and 30‑day video storage. Without a subscription, the system functions as a local alarm that can be controlled from the keypad or fob, but remote and monitored features are disabled.
