Shehbaz Sharif calls for equal education for all Pakistani children

The PM said poverty must not block talent, citing a Khyber Pakhtunkhwa girl who became a doctor.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said every talented child in Pakistan deserves quality education, regardless of family wealth, while inaugurating a Danish School in Islamabad on Sunday, according to dailytimes.com.pk.

He described the initiative as a way to narrow the gap between rich and poor families and recalled the programme’s launch in Punjab in 2010, which aims to help students from remote and disadvantaged areas succeed through merit.

Sharif highlighted a girl from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa who lost her father, overcame financial hardship and became a doctor, using her story to illustrate that talent exists across all social classes when proper opportunities are provided.

The prime minister noted that millions of Pakistani families struggle to meet basic needs, making education difficult to afford, and called for a national assessment of progress toward the country’s founding ideals of justice, merit and equal opportunity.
