Hannah Fry says James Acaster and Maya Jama have exposed themselves as Traitors

Mathematician Hannah Fry, a contestant on BBC One’s Celebrity Traitors, told host Ed Gamble on the Uncloaked podcast that James Acaster and Maya Jama have “given themselves away” as Traitors, based on patterns she had calculated before joining the show.
What happened
Fry, 42, was banished at the round‑table after the cast captured another Traitor. She entered the game as a Faithful, was later recruited by the remaining Traitors Acaster and Jama following Richard E Grant’s banishment, and then became a Traitor herself. After leaving the castle, Fry shared notes she had prepared in advance, outlining behavioural clues she believed indicated who the Traitors were.
What the reports add
According to the Independent, Fry said a “burn vote” in the first three episodes is a hallmark of a Traitor; she identified both Acaster and Jama as having made such a vote. She also noted that Traitors tend to switch their vote from one contestant to another – in this case from Julie to Fry – a move she described as a “small number of people” who have done so. Additionally, Fry claimed Traitors never appear together in the same car or at breakfast, a pattern she said she observed on the series.
What was said
Fry told Gamble, “So basically, I did all my work in advance. I went through all of the series before and this is me working out my calculations.” She added, “One, a Traitor will make a burn vote in the first three episodes… James has done it, Maya has done it.” She continued, “Traitors will pile on and banish another Traitor despite having never voted for them before… James and Maya have slightly given themselves away because they switched their vote from Julie to me.” Fry also said, “You’ll never see three Traitors in a car together, you’ll never see three Traitors sitting next to each other at breakfast.” When asked if the show met her expectations, she replied, “Oh and more.”
How it came about
Fry’s involvement follows earlier coverage of Celebrity Traitors, including Felo News pieces on the series launch, betting odds, and clues such as the candle clue that hinted at contestant Amol Rajan’s fate. Her own pre‑show method, which she likened to Alan Turing’s Enigma‑cracking technique, was mentioned in prior interviews where she said she had “spreadsheets coming out of my eyeballs.”
