Fuerza Regida announced on Oct. 17 that 22 live‑video recordings from a Mexico City session were stolen after the car belonging to the group’s director, Miguel, was broken into, according to Billboard.
What happened
The band travelled to Mexico City to record a live album and accompanying videos for 22 songs. While the audio tracks remain intact, the memory cards containing the video footage were taken when the director’s vehicle was burglarized. The group’s frontman, Jesús Ortiz Paz (JOP), said the thieves also walked away with a computer and cameras but left the hard drives and memory cards behind.
What the reports add
Billboard notes that the incident was disclosed in an Instagram video posted by JOP, which has amassed more than nine million views. The post included the hashtag #PisteandoConLaRegidaVol4, possibly referencing the upcoming live project, though the band has not confirmed the title.
What was said
JOP told Billboard, “The good news is that we still have the music, but the videos are gone… We got a reward, a gift, money, whatever they want to call it.” He added that the band is working “in good faith” with their label Rancho Humilde to resolve ongoing legal disputes while seeking the return of the stolen material.
How it came about
The theft occurs amid a broader contractual dispute between Fuerza Regida and Rancho Humilde, the California‑based label that signed the group in 2018. The band has previously detailed legal battles over royalties, touring agreements and creative control, and is scheduled to appear at Billboard Latin Music Week in Miami on Oct. 20.
