The footage, originally released for NATO's 75th anniversary, has been stripped of context and circulated by pro‑Kremlin accounts and conspiracy outlets.

A video published by NATO in July 2024 to mark its 75th anniversary is being circulated online as evidence that the alliance is preparing the public for an imminent war with Russia, France24 reported on 22 September 2026.
The original footage was posted on NATO’s official social‑media channels ahead of a summit in Washington. Online posts have removed the anniversary context and framed the clip as "propaganda" or "promotional material" for a future conflict with Moscow. The Russian embassy in the Netherlands shared the video, accusing NATO of trying to "inspire the youth to be ready to die for the elites". In the United States, conspiracy theorist Alex Jones amplified the claim, adding unrelated "white genocide" accusations.
France24 noted that the video’s misrepresentation coincides with heightened European warnings about Russian hybrid threats, including alleged drone, cyber and sabotage activity. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk recently warned of possible Russian drone and missile strikes on NATO’s eastern flank, while French President Emmanuel Macron also highlighted intensifying hybrid attacks.
