Erewhon confirmed that its pop‑up café at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) will become a permanent fixture, adding a museum‑themed apparel capsule and a signature smoothie, the chain said in a press release on Friday.
What happened
The retailer, known for high‑priced juices and smoothies, first opened the LACMA site in May. It now offers a limited‑edition collection that includes a sweatshirt, tote and hat featuring hand‑painted details inspired by Alexander Calder’s Three Quintains fountain. A portion of the collection’s proceeds will support LACMA education and exhibition programs. The new “LACMA smoothie” blends organic lion’s mane mushroom with mango, pineapple, strawberry and mandarin.
What was said
“We could not be prouder to see our partnership with LACMA evolve from a pop‑up into a permanent home,” Erewhon CEO Tony Antoci told the outlet. He added that the concept café marks “an important milestone” for the brand.
How it came about
Erewhon’s expansion follows the opening of its 13th location in Thousand Oaks and precedes planned stores in downtown Los Angeles (June 2027) and Costa Mesa (September 2027). The Pacific Palisades shop is slated to reopen in January 2027 after the 2024 fire.
