The Rental Disputes Centre reports a surge in fast, court‑free settlements for landlords and tenants.

Dubai's Rental Disputes Centre (RDC) said 2,350 rental disputes were settled amicably between January and September 2026, representing Dh401 million in claims and an average resolution time of six days.
The centre’s Conciliation and Settlement Department handled the cases, allowing landlords and tenants to negotiate agreements that are later approved by a supervising judge, giving them legal force. The process avoids formal litigation, aiming to preserve contractual relationships and reduce the social and economic impact of prolonged disputes.
Judge Abdulqader Mousa Mohammed, chairman of the RDC, said the figures demonstrate the effectiveness of Dubai’s approach, highlighting swift conclusions, procedural quality and protection of rights as outcomes of specialised expertise and immediate response to disputing parties.
According to the RDC, amicable settlements help both sides reach practical solutions while maintaining confidence in Dubai’s judicial system. The centre indicated it will continue refining its legal framework to support stable contractual relationships and ensure fair access to justice.
