Dubai Police held a road‑safety awareness session for more than 167 delivery motorcyclists employed by Zone on 3 October, as part of the emirate’s “Summer Without Accidents” campaign.
What happened
The General Department of Traffic, represented by the Traffic Awareness Department and in cooperation with the Permanent Committee for Labour Affairs, delivered a lecture covering speed limits, use of designated motorcycle lanes, safe following distances and the dangers of distracted riding. Participants were reminded to wear approved helmets, protective clothing and to secure delivery boxes to maintain bike stability.
What was said
Brigadier Juma Salem Bin Suwaidan, Director of the General Department of Traffic, said delivery riders are a key target for traffic‑awareness programmes because they spend long hours on the road and that “the safety of the rider and other road users must always come first.”
How it came about
The session aligns with earlier Dubai Police initiatives, such as the security planning for winter events (Dubai Police Review Security Plans for Global Village and Winter Events) and recent traffic‑safety campaigns that helped the UAE record zero road deaths at the start of the school year (UAE Records Zero Road Deaths on School Year Start).
