Doce Entertainment’s David Matamoros has been added as a co‑producer to Matías Rojas’s film adaptation of the Chilean cult novel “Dog Legs”, Variety reported.

The project, already backed by producers from Chile, France, Germany and Colombia, is entering the final phase of financing and is expected to begin shooting in Valdivia, Chile, in the second half of next year. Chilean actor Alfredo Castro is attached to star.

Federico Durán, the Colombian producer, said Spain’s involvement “decisively strengthens the project and puts us in a very strong position to complete its financing.” He told Variety that the film is ambitious both technically and artistically while aiming for a broad audience.

Matamoros, known for “The Platform” and “The Virgin of the Quarry”, previously worked with Zentropa Spain. The production also includes French VFX house MPC, French distributor Epicentre Films’ Reality Films, and German Klinker Films.
