JK Media, known for the unscripted celebrity series Sin Filtro, has announced the production of its first U.S. microdramas for TelevisaUnivision’s ViXMicrO platform. The two Spanish‑language series, Trapped with the Enemy ("Encerrada con el enemigo") and Threatened Infidelity ("Infidelidad amenazada"), were filmed in Los Angeles and will debut in October.

Each series contains 60 episodes, each lasting 90 seconds, and will be available in Mexico and the United States. JK Media Group founder and CEO Sebastian Jiménez said the company is excited to enter the microdrama space and to launch some of the first U.S.‑produced vertical series for ViXMicrO.

Series concepts

  • Trapped with the Enemy – a romantic thriller that unfolds in real time in a single setting. The plot follows Clara, who believes her abusive ex‑husband Hugo is in prison, only to find him waiting for her in a parking garage after work. With her car sabotaged and no phone signal, escape seems impossible until a mysterious figure named Leo appears.
  • Threatened Infidelity – a romantic comedy with thriller elements. Daniela discovers her husband Mario is having an affair with their yoga instructor neighbor Valentina. A forgotten watch exposes the affair, and Daniela finds an ally in new neighbor Carlos. Valentina’s scheme involves a building Daniela’s father designed, and she is willing to eliminate anyone who stands in her way.

Both series are executive produced by Jiménez and Flavio Morales, who previously worked on HBO Max’s Like Water for Chocolate. Sergio Jablón serves as a writer on both shows. Fernanda Romero stars in both microdramas, while Suanny Serpas and comedian Concrete appear in Threatened Infidelity, and Liliana Arriaga makes a special appearance in Trapped with the Enemy.

ViXMicrO, launched last year, focuses on short‑form scripted series designed for vertical, mobile‑first viewing. According to research firm Omdia, the microdrama format, which originated in China, generated global revenues of $11 billion last year and is expected to reach $14 billion by the end of 2026, with Latin America emerging as a major market.

The new series are part of ViXMicrO’s strategy to tap the youth audience and expand its content library in Spanish‑speaking markets.
