Variety reports that Daniel Zolghadri is taking over the role of Kent from Charles Melton in Elijah Bynum’s Los Angeles crime thriller “My Darling California.”
The film, set in 1980 L.A., follows a televangelist and his newscaster wife as they try to contain a scandal that could ruin their careers. Zolghadri’s character is described as a young man caught in an escalating conflict that forces him to confront long‑buried questions when a figure from his past reappears.
The cast also includes Jessica Chastain, Chris Pine, Chris Evans, Mikey Madison and Don Cheadle. Production will be shot entirely in California and is backed by Anton, with U.S. and global rights co‑represented by Anton and CAA Media Finance. Executive producers include Len Blavatnik and Zach Nutman.
Zolghadri, known for roles in “Lurker,” “Y2K,” and the Prime Video series “Tales From the Loop,” is represented by UTA and Circle Management + Production. Reps for Melton did not respond to requests for comment.
