Baloch Yakjehti Committee says 3,000 residents face forced evictions in Gwadar's Sardasht
The BYC says the evictions violate Pakistan’s constitution and international law.

The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) alleges that around 3,000 people living in Sardasht, an ancient settlement near Shadi Cor in Gwadar district, are being forced out of their homes under the pretext of security concerns, according to a post on X dated September 29, 2026.
The BYC describes the move as a "state assault on Baloch survival," saying it would turn residents into refugees and unemployed persons within their own homeland. The committee questions the legal basis of the operation, asking for the written order authorising the clearance and for compensation for those affected.
In addition to the evictions, the BYC says the authorities have imposed checkpoints, fencing proposals, restrictions on fishermen and limits on border‑area employment along the Makran coast, which it says collectively aim to increase control over Baloch territory and resources. The group claims these actions breach provisions of Pakistan’s Constitution and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
