The organisation aims to close gaps in services, offer bridge funding and run an at‑home education programme called Alchemy School.

Kris Hamburger, a father of an autistic daughter, has founded A Work in Progress and Love (AWPL) to support families of children with developmental disabilities. The organisation focuses on three pillars: advocacy and bridge funding, home‑based education through its Alchemy School, and a long‑term community vision that includes research participation.

AWPL’s Advocacy & Bridge Fund will help families understand and navigate complex service systems, and provide financial support where waiting for public services is not an option. The Alchemy School will bring individualized learning tools into the home, allowing children to continue education outside the classroom. Finally, the organisation envisions a community where families can live, learn, work and engage in research throughout their children’s lives.
