Abu Dhabi’s Integrated Transport Centre announced on 2 October that it has awarded a more than Dh300 million contract to French firm Conduent Business Solutions S.A.S. to develop an advanced automated vehicle management (AVM) system and a digital smart‑fare collection platform for the emirate’s public transport network.
The contract was unveiled during the LIVEX 2026 exhibition, where the centre highlighted the project’s role in creating a data‑rich, AI‑enabled mobility ecosystem. Conduent, part of the global Conduent Group, brings over five decades of experience and solutions deployed in more than 400 transport networks across 20 countries.
According to the announcement, the AVM system will provide real‑time bus monitoring, improve schedule adherence, and enhance fleet and service‑management efficiency. The digital fare collection component will integrate a unified smart‑ticketing solution, allowing passengers to use a single payment method across buses, trams and future rail services.
The Integrated Transport Centre said the investment supports Abu Dhabi’s broader digital‑transformation agenda, aiming to boost quality of life, mobility efficiency and the emirate’s competitiveness as a destination for living and investment.
