The first passenger service on Etihad Rail’s Dubai‑Abu Dhabi line departed Al Yalayis Station in Dubai at 6:14 am on September 30, 2026, and arrived in Abu Dhabi at 7:18 am, according to Gulf News.

Katerina DjKattyLeen, who bought tickets in both Premium and Comfort classes, said she felt “full of goosebumps” and was surprised by the non‑plastic cutlery made from palm‑tree material. Sultan Lootah, an Abu Dhabi resident, described the journey as “different” and highlighted the time‑saving and stress‑reducing benefits of being able to work or relax on board. Engineer Omar El‑Gahed, who commutes daily by car, said the train could change his work routine, calling the experience “amazing and smooth” and “above expectations.”

Other early riders, such as Sanalina Gomez, boarded unexpectedly and noted the welcoming atmosphere, including souvenirs handed out to passengers.
