Zoom rolls out World ID ‘proof of human’ badges for enterprise users
The new feature uses iris scans, live selfies and video feeds to display a Human Badge on Zoom calls.
By Felo News Desk · Published
Zoom has made a "proof of human" badge available to its enterprise customers worldwide, using biometric identity technology from World ID, the Sam Altman‑backed project.
The system matches an image captured by World’s iris‑scanning Orb, a live selfie and the participant’s video feed before showing a Human Badge to other meeting attendees. World first announced the Zoom integration in April during a limited beta with VanEck Funds, and the feature is now live in the Zoom Marketplace.
World said the badge is intended to protect high‑stakes conversations after incidents such as a 2024 Arup scam that cost $25 million and a February fake‑Zoom attack linked to North Korea‑aligned hackers.
