Gulf News reports that 15‑year‑old Indian cricketer Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has been named to TIME magazine’s TIME100 Next 2026 list, making him the youngest person on the roster and the sole Indian athlete featured.

The inclusion follows Sooryavanshi’s senior India debut against England in Manchester earlier this year, when he became the youngest male cricketer to represent India at 15 years and 99 days, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar’s 16‑year‑205‑day record set in 1989.

Sooryavanshi also debuted in the IPL for Rajasthan Royals at 14, helped India win the 2026 Under‑19 World Cup with a 175‑run innings, and now joins previous Indian TIME100 Next honorees such as sprinter Dutee Chand (2019), captain Harmanpreet Kaur (2023) and batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal (2025).
