The New York Mets confirmed on Tuesday that hitting coach Jeff Albert, quality‑assurance coach Danny Barnes and batting‑practice pitcher Kevin Mahoney will not be on the staff next season, a club source said no additional changes are planned.

Albert, promoted from the minors after the previous hitting coaches Eric Chavez and Jeremy Barnes were dismissed, oversaw a lineup that ranked 20th in MLB scoring at 4.31 runs per game and 23rd in OPS at .706.

Both Troy Snitker and Rafael Fernandez, hired under Albert as hitting coach and assistant hitting coach, will remain, as will bench coach Kai Correa and several other assistants.

Albert, Barnes and Mahoney could stay with the organization in other capacities but are free to explore opportunities elsewhere.
