U.S. Central Command reported on Friday that the United States’ naval blockade and financial restrictions have deprived Iran of at least $25 billion in oil revenue, hurting the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), according to amgreatness.com.
Adm. Brad Cooper, commander of CENTCOM, said the campaign – dubbed Operation Economic Outcast – follows the 38‑day Operation Epic Fury offensive and includes freezing roughly $350 million in Iran‑linked cryptocurrency assets. He added that Iran is now withholding salaries, pensions and benefits for IRGC personnel.
Cooper also emphasized that the United States and regional partners continue to control the Strait of Hormuz, with about 400 merchant vessels moving more than 100 million barrels of crude in the past week under U.S. assistance.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian condemned the measures as “inhumane economic coercion.” Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent described the effort as an unprecedented isolation campaign.
