Abu Dhabi: Nineteen Emirati youths participated in a three‑day field‑research programme in Shanghai from 25 to 27 September, according to Gulf News.

What happened

The students, part of the UAE Youth Ambassadors Programme, visited hospitals, factories and community centres, including the Memorial of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Kangjian Community Service Centre and the Institute of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine at Fudan University. They worked in three tracks – public governance, traditional Chinese medicine and industrial cooperation – and focused on firms with UAE investment links.

What the reports add

Gulf News notes that the programme was organised with Chinese institutions and run by the Office of Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs at the Presidential Court, which oversees the wider initiative. Workshops covered innovation, design thinking, media communication, photography, video production and presentation development. China Daily acted as the educational and editorial partner, providing mentors for documentary‑filmmaking workshops.
