Ugandan delivery rider Mansur Katabalwa, who has been working for Talabat in the United Arab Emirates for five months, was filmed reading a physical copy of the Quran beside his motorcycle during a break between orders. The video went viral on social media, drawing attention to his personal routine.
Katabalwa, who arrived in the UAE two years ago to support his wife and two children, said he memorised the Quran three years ago after the deaths of his parents and brother. He uses the breaks to hold the physical copy, saying it helps him focus and feel connected to his faith. He also listens to Quran recitations on his phone while riding.
He explained that the practice allows him to pray for his late parents, asking Allah for forgiveness and a place in Jannah. The rider’s routine, he said, is not driven by the online attention but stems from a deeply personal journey following family loss.
