Prabhakar says thousands of voters, especially SC, ST, BC and minority groups, have been wrongly deleted and asks the BJP chief to verify the claims in person.

Transport & BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Sunday invited Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao to set a date and time for a meeting with electors he says lost their voting rights during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process.

Prabhakar pledged to bring affected voters and supporting documents, arguing the issue should be settled through evidence rather than police action. He claimed about 13 crore votes have been deleted nationwide, including 40 lakh in Hyderabad and 70 lakh across Telangana, and alleged that SC, ST, BC and minority voters perceived as opposed to the BJP were disproportionately affected.

The minister also cited personal experience of name discrepancies on his own voter record and referenced former Vice‑President M Venkaiah Naidu’s comments on voter registration challenges.
