Business leaders, investors and tech enthusiasts will gather at the Sandton Convention Centre on Wednesday 21 and Thursday 22 October for the Singularity Summit South Africa 2026, according to bizcommunity.com.
What happened
The two‑day event, organized by Singularity South Africa in partnership with Old Mutual, Google Cloud, the Industrial Development Corporation and metaverse platform UBU, will host more than 40 speakers drawn from 25 cities in 13 countries. Attendees can expect a mix of keynote sessions, panel discussions and a large‑scale innovation expo that offers hands‑on interaction with emerging technologies.
What the reports add
Bizcommunity notes that artificial intelligence will dominate the programme, with sessions covering its impact on business, leadership, investment, skills, entrepreneurship and society. Other topics include digital transformation, robotics, biotechnology, the future of cities and additional exponential technologies. The outlet lists a roster of speakers such as David Roberts, Felix Cheung, Maureen Costello, Barak Kaufman, Benjamin Rosman, Amanda Manna, Dario Fanucchi, Tilly Lockey, Valter Adão, Danielle Einstein, Fana Shabane, Kim Hulett, Ran Neuner, Hywel George, Marko Stavrou and Rajesh Pasungili. Poet, author and broadcaster Lebo Mashile will serve as the summit’s poet and MC.
What was said
Mic Mann, co‑CEO of Singularity South Africa, told bizcommunity that the summit aims to create “an environment where people can engage with the future rather than simply hear about it.” He added that delegates can listen to a global expert, continue the conversation over coffee and then experience the technology firsthand in the expo.
How it came about
The summit builds on previous Singularity events in the region and aligns with South Africa’s broader push to position the country as a hub for tech innovation, as highlighted in recent Felo News coverage of tourism growth and digital ID demonstrations.
