Mercedes Rose, who first voiced Nintendo's Rosalina from 2007 to 2010, posted on social media that the character received far less screen time than expected in the newly released The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. The film features Brie Larson as Rosalina, but Rose argues the role was largely limited to a plot device.
"Brie was a great Rosalina although I think we can all agree she needed much more screen time. And I DO wish it was ME! :)" Rose wrote, expressing both praise for Larson and disappointment with the character’s limited presence.
Rose hopes future installments, such as a potential third Mario movie, will give Rosalina a larger, more integrated role.
