Police in Warsaw said a 21‑year‑old woman attacked a 17‑year‑old student with a "dangerous object" at a further‑education college on Saturday at about 12:30 pm local time (10:30 GMT), injuring three people, according to Al Jazeera.

Jakub Filipiak, a spokesman for Warsaw police, said the suspect also harmed two by‑standers aged 17 and 24. He added that one victim was taken to hospital with non‑life‑threatening injuries, while the other two did not require hospitalisation.

The police did not name the institution, but noted it was open on a Saturday because it provides post‑secondary education. National newspaper Wyborcza identified the school as TEB Edukacja, which offers post‑secondary courses. Media reports said the attacker was a former student of the same school.

The incident follows a wave of school‑related violence in Poland. Earlier in the week, a 15‑year‑old fatally stabbed a caretaker and wounded two adults at John Paul II primary school in Leszczydol‑Nowiny, and a 19‑year‑old student attacked peers at a vocational school in the Mazovian province, leaving one dead and several injured. In response, police detained 76 people nationwide and checked nearly 50,000 schools, while many schools suspended classes or increased security.

Authorities emphasized that the attacker did not know any of the victims. The police investigation continues, and security checks at educational institutions remain in place across the country.
