Hong Kong‑based Cappu Films has signed on as the worldwide sales agent for “Overstake,” a sci‑fi action thriller directed by writer‑director Stas Mareev, Variety reported on Oct. 11.
The film combines a live‑action shoot with environments rebuilt using generative AI. It follows a wounded veteran who must traverse an industrial city in two hours to keep his ex‑wife alive, while strangers receive phone offers to help or hinder him.
Cast members include Konstantin Adaev, Vika Tokareva, Oleg Chernov, Konstantin Sidikhin, Denis Starkov and Sergey Russkin. Mareev said the AI process lets him “rethink the environments, action and visual language without losing the human core.” Janice Woo of Cappu added that the company’s genre strength makes the title a strong addition to the Busan market lineup.
