Oman's Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion has revoked the licences of 17 Sanad service centres, citing violations of the regulatory framework governing their operations, Gulf News reported on 15 October 2026.
The decision follows periodic inspection campaigns aimed at assessing the performance of the centres and verifying compliance with Ministerial Decision No. 244/2022, which sets out the rules for Sanad Service Centres. The ministry said the inspections identified breaches that warranted the licence revocations and warned that further non‑compliance could lead to additional penalties.
Sanad Service Centres constitute a network of integrated government service outlets across Oman, offering individuals and businesses access to more than 370 electronic and administrative services. They act as single‑point access points for transactions involving ministries, municipalities and private‑sector entities.
The ministry stressed that all licensed centres must strictly adhere to applicable regulations, rules and operational guidelines. It added that the revocations are part of a broader effort to strengthen regulatory oversight, maintain service quality and ensure that the centres operate in line with established standards.
