BJD chief Naveen Patnaik blames BJP for Gen Z’s bleak future in Odisha

Patnaik says the BJP’s focus on party growth leaves farmers, women and seniors in distress.

By Felo News Desk · Published

Odisha opposition leader and BJD president Naveen Patnaik said on Wednesday that the state’s BJP‑led government is "incompetent" and putting Generation Z’s future in darkness.

What happened

Speaking at the Jan Sampark Padayatra in Bhubaneswar’s Central Assembly constituency, Patnaik claimed that rising prices of essential commodities are causing widespread distress across all sections of society, including farmers, women and senior citizens.

What was said

Patnaik told PTI, "The Odisha government ranks number one in the entire country when it comes to incompetence." He added that the BJP’s primary objective is the development of its party, not the state.

How it came about

The Jan Sampark Padayatra began on 2 October, marking Gandhi Jayanti, and is scheduled to run until 2 November. Patnaik also condemned the vandalisation of the block chairperson’s office in Satyabadi, Puri district, which he alleged was carried out by BJP workers, posting on X that such anarchy “has disturbed the people of Odisha.”
