Meta Names MongoDB CEO CJ Desai to Lead New Enterprise AI Platform
Meta has hired MongoDB chief CJ Desai to spearhead its newly announced Meta Enterprise Platform, aiming to bring its AI stack to corporate customers.

Meta announced on Monday that it will launch a new initiative called the Meta Enterprise Platform, designed to extend its AI capabilities to businesses and developers. The company has hired MongoDB CEO Chirantan “CJ” Desai to lead the effort.
Desai, who left MongoDB after a brief tenure, will oversee the integration of Meta’s AI assets—including Muse, Meta Business Agent, Muse API, Muse Code and other tools—into products that companies can deploy internally. In a statement, Desai said the platform would “turn its AI stack into products and services that companies can deploy for their own businesses.”
Meta’s move follows the earlier launch of Muse, the personal AI assistant that can send emails and book travel. The company says the Enterprise Platform will build on that momentum to offer a full technology stack to corporate clients.
MongoDB’s shares fell more than 17% after the announcement of Desai’s departure. The database maker named Dev Ittycheria as interim chief executive while it searches for a permanent replacement.
