Madonna returned to the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night to open the 2026 ceremony at the Peacock Theatre in downtown Los Angeles, performing songs from her new album Confessions II and later receiving seven awards, Billboard said.
The Billboard Pop Shop Podcast featured host Keith Caulfield describing the night’s highlights, including a tribute to George Michael and a performance by the new act GENER8TION with Yung Lean. The episode also noted chart milestones for Miley Cyrus, Riley Green, beabadoobee and Ella Langley.
