Netflix has confirmed that the reality competition ‘Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa’ will return for a second season, with Riteish Deshmukh and Farah Khan reprising their roles as the show’s jailers, Gulf News reported on 29 September 2026.
What happened
The announcement came from the production team led by Ekta Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor and Manisha Sharma. The first season streamed on Netflix earlier in 2026, attracting audiences in 12 countries, generating more than 7 million conversations and over 5 billion social‑media views, according to Netflix data cited by Gulf News. The series logged 125 million viewing hours during its six‑week run.
What the reports add
Gulf News noted that the second season will be show‑run by Malaya Pradhan and will retain the title ‘Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa’. It added that while the full contestant lineup and premiere date have not been disclosed, the format will continue to place celebrity “inmates” in a prison‑like setting where they face physical and mental challenges, alliances, nominations and eliminations.

How it came about
Earlier coverage by Felo News highlighted Netflix’s broader strategy of expanding reality‑TV offerings, including the recent renewal of Chef’s Table and the cancellation of scripted series such as Sweet Magnolias.
