After a two‑year hiatus, Vancouver’s popular Le Tigre food truck is staging a one‑night Japanese street‑food party in partnership with Kei Lowes of Toki Doki. The event is set for Monday, Oct. 26, at Torafuku, 958 Main St., and reservations are now open online.
Le Tigre will serve items such as Grilled Cheese Mochi Skewers, Beet Fries with plum powder, Wagyu Croquettes, and Shaved Ice topped with oolong‑tea crème caramel, brown‑sugar bubbles and passionfruit. Toki Doki will bring back its Famous Okonomiyaki, a Cabbage Caesar Salad featuring Hispi cabbage, miso Caesar, dengaku sauce, sesame, nori and lemon, and Ice Cream Cookies made with ginger cookies, vanilla ice cream, yuzu marmalade and kinako.
Describing the vibe, the team said, “think Japanese yatai after dark — casual, lively, a little messy, and very delicious.”
