CAA co‑chairman Kevin Huvane unveiled Project Angel Food's 17th delivery van, the organization’s first all‑electric vehicle, in a ceremony outside CAA’s Century City headquarters on Oct. 14, 2026. The van is dedicated to Huvane’s late father, Martin “Pop” Huvane.
What happened
The white van with blue lettering was presented during a ribbon‑cutting event attended by members of the Huvane family, CAA leadership and Project Angel Food executives. It joins a fleet that delivers more than 1.5 million meals annually to critically ill residents of Los Angeles County.
What the reports add
The Hollywood Reporter notes that this is Huvane’s second van donation to the nonprofit, the first having honored his late brother Chris Huvane. It also highlights that the van is the first electric vehicle in Project Angel Food’s caravan, a “transformational” addition according to the organization.
What was said
Kevin Huvane said, “My father, Martin ‘Pop’ Huvane, believed in showing up for people and helping wherever he could… Honoring him through an organization that so beautifully reflects his values is incredibly meaningful to our family,” as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
Project Angel Food CEO Richard Ayoub added that the van will carry “not only life‑saving meals, but hope and love to our often‑invisible neighbors.”
How it came about
Martin Huvane, a former New York Transit Authority employee and Encyclopedia Britannica staffer, was also known for running a neighborhood deli. His legacy of community service inspired his son’s partnership with Project Angel Food, which already operates a fleet of 16 vans delivering meals to the seriously ill.
