Warner Bros. and DC announced that Steven Soderbergh will complete principal photography on The Batman Part II after director Matt Reeves stepped away to address a sensitive family situation. The film, slated for release on Feb. 18, 2028, will see Soderbergh work remotely with Reeves’ team to integrate new footage with existing material. \"I thought Matt Reeves’ work on The Batman was stunning; it was intentional, specific, and rigorously coherent,\" Soderbergh said in a statement, adding that the goal is to finish the film seamlessly. Robert Pattinson returns as Bruce Wayne, joined by Scarlett Johansson and Sebastian Stan. The change mirrors past DC director swaps, such as Zack Snyder’s replacement by Joss Whedon on 2017’s Justice League.
