At a Global Innovation Alliance meeting in Bengaluru on Tuesday, IT/BT Minister Priyank Kharge said the Karnataka government is targeting 50 percent of India’s space market and 5 percent of the global market.
Kharge highlighted the state’s new sustainable data‑centre policy, backed by an outlay of over Rs 1,300 crore, and a goal to create 1 gigawatt of IT load capacity by 2031. He claimed Karnataka has invested in more than 1,500 startups, a level of support he said is unmatched worldwide.
The Bengaluru Tech Summit 2026 is expected to draw over 90,000 participants, including 1,000 startups, 1,000 investors, 25,000 delegates, 700 speakers and 1,800 exhibitors from 75 countries.
Kharge also noted traffic congestion on the Outer Ring Road as part of the state’s urban de‑congestion agenda.
