Iran's foreign ministry said on Monday it is reviewing Washington's reply to Tehran's proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and will convey its answer through intermediaries once the review is complete, dailytimes.com.pk reported.

Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei told reporters that diplomatic exchanges continue, with Qatar and Pakistan helping mediate. He noted that Iran submitted its proposal in mid‑September after an interim ceasefire collapsed and that Washington's response did not satisfy Tehran's seven conditions, which focus on reopening the waterway and restoring maritime security.

Baghaei also addressed rising tensions involving Saudi Arabia and Yemen's Houthi movement, saying Iran remains ready to support dialogue and referred to a United Nations roadmap for Yemen. No deadline for Iran's reply was announced.
