Anti‑Terrorism Court orders video link hearing for Imaan Mazari and Hadi Chattha

Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra questioned police delays and directed a jail trial request to be clarified.

An Anti‑Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad on Thursday sought an explanation from police for not producing Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha in a barrier‑removal case, while the police asked that their trial be held inside Adiala Jail, dailytimes.com.pk reported.

Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra allowed the accused to appear through a video link and adjourned the hearing to the next day, ordering lawyers and witnesses to report to Adiala Jail for the subsequent session.

Defence counsel Aimal Khan Mandokhail submitted an affidavit describing difficulties meeting his clients at the jail, and Riasat Ali Azad said the defence was barred from taking case records into the meeting, limiting effective discussion.

The judge warned senior police officials could be summoned if no report on the non‑production was provided, and ordered the SP Headquarters to appear within 15 minutes. The SP said a large police deployment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and a high‑level delegation limited available transport and personnel, proposing a jail trial but noting no final decision had been made.
