The graduate electorate for the Warangal‑Khammam‑Nalgonda graduates MLC by‑election fell to 4,63,839 voters, down from 5,05,565 in the 2021 election, a decline of 41,726 voters, according to Deccan Chronicle.
Out of the reduced roll, 3,36,013 graduates cast ballots, giving a turnout of 72.4%. District‑wise, graduate voters fell from 90,826 to 80,871 in Nalgonda (10.96% drop), from 62,624 to 51,497 in Suryapet (17.77% drop), and from 38,367 to 34,080 in an unnamed third district (11.17% drop).
The by‑election was triggered by the resignation of Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, who won the seat in 2021 and became an MLA in the 2023 polls. The Election Commission set November 6 as the deadline for graduate voter enrolment applications.
Election Watch committee member B Keshavulu said graduates are reluctant to register as MLC voters because they must re‑enrol for each election, and that elected graduate MLCs often fail to keep promises to youth and employees, further dampening interest.
