Fox Business Network announced that it will debut a new morning program, “Big Money in the Morning,” on Oct. 12, replacing Maria Bartiromo’s former show.
What happened
The network’s weekday schedule is being reshaped after Bartiromo’s “Mornings With Maria” was cancelled in August. The new three‑hour show will run from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m., hosted by Dagen McDowell, Brian Brenberg, Taylor Riggs and Barron’s journalist Josh Schafer.
What the reports add
- Variety notes that the morning hosts will also anchor a revamped “Big Money” roundtable, positioning the program to compete directly with CNBC’s “Squawk Box.”
- The Hollywood Reporter provides the full weekday grid, showing that after the morning block the channel will air Fox Weather AM (5‑6 a.m.), “Varney & Co.” (9 a.m.–12 p.m.), the noon‑to‑2 p.m. “Big Money Show” with rotating guests, “Making Money with Charles Payne” (2‑3 p.m.), “The Claman Countdown” (3‑4 p.m.), “Kudlow” (4‑5 p.m.), “The Evening Edit” (5‑6 p.m.), and encore episodes of Larry Kudlow at 6 p.m.
- Both outlets confirm that “The Bottom Line,” the 6 p.m. show anchored by McDowell and Brenberg, will be discontinued and replaced by reruns of Larry Kudlow’s program.
- Liz Claman will add a Friday‑night interview series, “Claman’s Power Players,” airing at 7 p.m.
- The noon “Big Money Show” will expand its roster of rotating co‑hosts, adding Cheryl Casone, Marcus Lemonis and Lou Basenese alongside regular host Jackie DeAngelis.
What was said
“We’re excited to bring viewers fresh programming from a seasoned team of journalists, offering expert insight and analysis on the forces shaping the economy and driving business news,” said Fox News Media president and executive editor Jay Wallace, as quoted by the Hollywood Reporter.
Fox Business said the new morning show will “provide a comprehensive look at the issues driving the market to help viewers navigate the forces shaping their financial future ahead of the trading day,” per the Hollywood Reporter.
How it came about
The overhaul follows Bartiromo’s removal in August amid allegations that she disclosed company information to outside parties, leaving the network without a regular early‑morning anchor. Executives said the new lineup is designed to increase the presence of top personalities during market‑hours and to create a smoother flow into Stuart Varney’s afternoon program.
