Emirati chef Maitha Warshaw served Arabic coffee (karak) to UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan aboard an Etihad Rail train on Monday, according to Khaleej Times.

During the preview journey from Mohamed bin Zayed City station to Al Yalayis station, which lasted about one hour and four minutes, the president asked for "karak" and praised it as the best he had ever had.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai’s crown prince, and Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Etihad Rail chairman, were also on board and inspected the food offerings.

Warshaw explained that the menu, including paratha dipped in karak, aims to showcase Emirati flavours to the largely non‑local passengers, about 70% of whom are not residents.
