Disney Cruise Line has revealed the interior and entertainment details of its newest Wish‑class ship, Disney Believe, which will begin its maiden voyage on 18 December 2027, the Independent reported.
What happened
The announcement, made this week, outlined a range of new features for the 4,000‑guest vessel. Guests will first enter a Grand Hall dominated by a giant Moana statue flanked by her companions Pua and Heihei, an ocean‑coloured carpet and a chandelier inspired by the sea’s fluid movement. The ship will also display Disney characters on its bow and stern, including Tinker Bell, Peter Pan, Wendy, Captain Hook, and large models of Toy Story’s Buzz Lightyear and Woody holding crayons that spell the ship’s name.
What the reports add
The Independent noted that each Wish‑class ship carries its own theme; Disney Believe is dedicated to “promise and possibilities” and follows the enchantment‑themed Disney Wish, adventure‑themed Disney Treasure and heroes‑and‑villains‑themed Disney Destiny. Cabin interiors will feature artwork from Moana, Coco and The Lion King, while the two‑storey, 2,000‑square‑foot Believe Tower Suite, hidden behind a faux funnel on the top deck, will be Magic Kingdom‑themed with fireworks‑shaped lighting.
What was said
The outlet quoted Disney Cruise Line material describing the Grand Hall’s chandelier as “modelled after the sea’s fluid movement with the heart of Te Fiti hidden within.” It also reported that the ship’s theatre will bring the Disney film Encanto to the stage, marking the first time the story moves from screen to live performance on a Disney cruise.
How it came about
Disney Believe joins three earlier Wish‑class ships that debuted between 2022 and 2025, each expanding the line’s themed‑experience portfolio. The reveal follows Disney Cruise Line’s pattern of unveiling ship details months before delivery, as seen with the earlier announcements of Disney Wish, Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny. The new ship’s launch in December 2027 continues Disney’s strategy to grow its cruise fleet with larger, experience‑focused vessels.
