Dwayne Johnson was photographed on Tuesday in Brooklyn portraying a 70‑year‑old character called the Chicken Man for the upcoming movie “Lizard Music,” Variety reported.
What happened
The set photos, taken on Oct. 20, 2026, show Johnson in a tan bucket hat, coat and holding a slice of pizza, walking beside co‑star Theo Clark Leber, who carries an oversized lizard plush. The shoot took place on Coney Island, Brooklyn.
What the report adds
Variety notes that the film is directed by Benny Safdie and adapts Daniel Pinkwater’s children’s book. The cast includes Rachel McAdams, Colman Domingo, David Krumholtz, Jeff Goldblum, Alicia Silverstone and Regina Hall. Prosthetic makeup was created by artist Kazu Hiro, who previously transformed Tom Cruise for “Digger.”
What was said
Johnson told Variety that he agreed to the role after “about 45 minutes” of persuasion from Safdie and that he shed 30 pounds of muscle to play the Chicken Man, adding, “I’m so excited to get a chance to hopefully transform again like I was able to do in ‘Smashing Machine.’”
How it came about
The project follows Johnson’s earlier collaboration with Safdie on 2025’s “The Smashing Machine.” Amazon MGM Studios has scheduled the film’s release for Christmas Day 2027, as reported in Felo’s earlier article Lizard Music slated for Dec. 25, 2027 release.
