CleanTech Lithium (LON:CTL) announced it has secured options to acquire two lithium brine properties – Genoveva and Sal de Litio 1 – in Argentina’s Salar de Antofalla, about 80 km from its flagship Laguna Verde project in Catamarca Province. The company will pay $525,000 in the first year, with further payments of $1.4 million scheduled between October 2027 and May 2031, funding the $1.93 million acquisition from existing cash. Shares rose 7.4% in London, closing at 7.25 pence and giving CleanTech a market value of £25.5 million ($34 million). CEO Ignacio Mehech said the Antofalla assets offer “significant development synergies” and could share a centralised conversion facility in Copiapó, while Laguna Verde remains the primary focus. Exploration of Antofalla is planned for 2027.
