Adidas sues Australian fast‑fashion label White Fox over four‑stripe designs

The sportswear giant alleges the Sydney‑based brand’s four‑stripe apparel deceives consumers and seeks damages.

Adidas has taken Australian label White Fox to Federal Court, accusing the fast‑fashion retailer of selling clothes that feature four parallel stripes "substantially identical with or otherwise deceptively similar" to Adidas’s three‑stripe logo, according to a BBC report.

Adidas says it repeatedly asked White Fox to cease the sales and advertising of the designs from March 2024, but the company continued to market sweatpants, lounge shorts and socks with the four‑stripe pattern. The court filing claims the advertisements, which show models wearing genuine Adidas shoes alongside White Fox products, could mislead consumers into believing the brands are linked.

The lawsuit seeks damages equal to the profit White Fox earned from the disputed items, plus interest and costs. Adidas also points to side‑by‑side visual comparisons and a June 2025 online listing that displayed White Fox socks next to pink Adidas shoes, noting that the Adidas logo was later digitally altered to remove its stripes.

White Fox, founded in 2013 by Georgia and Daniel Contos and Daniel’s mother Melina Maceri, declined to comment, as did the law firms representing both parties. The first hearing is scheduled for Friday.
