Charli XCX announced on social media that the "Music, Fashion, Film" concert scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2026 at Glendale’s Desert Diamond Arena has been cancelled because she has lost her voice due to illness.

What happened

After two packed shows in Los Angeles over the weekend, the singer was set to perform in Arizona as part of the North American leg of her tour. In a post, she wrote that she has been fighting sickness throughout the run and that she "completely lost my voice." The cancellation was confirmed on Oct. 20, 2026, the day the show was to take place.

What the reports add

Variety reported that the cancellation was announced a day before the show and that refunds for tickets purchased through Ticketmaster will be processed automatically, while other tickets will be refunded at the point of purchase. Rolling Stone echoed the refund details and added that Charli’s team attempted to find a new date but were unable to do so.

What was said

Charli XCX wrote, "I put absolutely everything I have into my performances, both physically and emotionally, and it breaks me that I can’t be with you tomorrow," and added, "Again, I’m sorry to the angels who had made plans to be there tomorrow. I know how much time, planning and care it takes to come to concerts and appreciate everyone’s support immensely," as reported by Variety. Rolling Stone quoted the same statements, noting the singer’s disappointment and promise to return to Arizona in the future.

How it came about

The cancellation follows the start of Charli XCX’s 12‑date "Music, Fashion, Film" tour, which began in early September with a show in Philadelphia, then moved to Brooklyn, Toronto, Atlanta, San Diego and two Los Angeles dates. The Los Angeles shows featured a surprise duet with Chappell Roan on "Boom Clap," covered in Felo’s earlier article Charli XCX and Chappell Roan duet on “Boom Clap” at Kia Forum. The tour’s momentum was halted by the singer’s illness, leading to the Arizona cancellation.
