The remix of Madonna’s 1980s classic “Danceteria,” re‑imagined with Charli XCX, topped Billboard’s weekly new‑music poll, earning 63% of the vote. The poll, published on September 25, saw the club‑ready track outpace releases from Taylor Swift, Tinashe and others.

Billboard readers chose the “Danceteria Afterhours” mix as their favourite new music of the week. The remix adds verses from Charli XCX to Madonna’s original recording from her 2026 album Confessions II, blending the pop icon’s New York club lore with the British artist’s London and Los Angeles club history.

In the poll, Taylor Swift’s surprise single “Patient Zero” from The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore received 27% of the vote, while Tinashe’s new album Popstar garnered just under 3%. The poll also listed other releases such as Maren Morris’s re‑imagined Michelle Branch hit and Kenny Chesney’s new album Silver Sands Marina.

Madonna’s Confessions II had launched at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in July, marking her first No. 1 LP of the 2020s. Charli XCX’s own album Music, Fashion, Film debuted at No. 3 in August.
